WHEREAS,on September 23,2025,City Council approved Resolution 2025-322 for a lease
agreement with Barry Niedfelt for the rental of an 8,400 square foot metal storage building for the
Park Maintenance Division for offsite storage/staging area; and
WHEREAS,the current lease expires September 15, 2026; and
WHEREAS,the City Parks&Recreation Department is requesting to extend the lease for an
additional five(5)years ending September 15,2031 at a cost of$27,000.00 per year,plus utilities;
and
WHEREAS,funds will be paid out of the Park Operations budget—Other Property Services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the new five (5) year Lease Agreement by and
between the City of Grand Island and Barry Niedfelt detailing the responsibilities between both
parties is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that the Mayor be,and hereby is,authorized and directed to
sign on behalf of the City of Grand Island, the Agreement by and between the City and Barry
Niedfelt.
