A RESOLUTION APPROVING A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND AND THE INTERNATIONAL
ASSOCIATION OF FIRE FIGHTERS,LOCAL NO. 647
WHEREAS, pursuant to Neb. Rev. Stat. §16-201, the City Of Grand
Island, Nebraska(the "City") has the authority to enter into contracts and take other
actions necessary to the exercise its corporate powers; and
WHEREAS, the International Association of Fire Fighters, Local No. 647
("IAFF Local 647"), is the recognized bargaining representative for a bargaining unit of
City employees; and
WHEREAS, representatives of the City and IAFF Local 647 have
negotiated the terms of a successor collective bargaining agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City and IAFF Local 647 have reached a tentative
agreement, subject to approval by the City Council and execution by the parties; and
WHEREAS, the proposed collective bargaining agreement has a term
beginning November 1, 2026, and ending September 30, 2029.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the Mayor is
hereby authorized and directed to execute the collective bargaining agreement by and
between the City of Grand Island and the International Association of Fire Fighters,
Local No. 647 for the period of November 1, 2026, through September 30, 2029.
