WHEREAS,on April 14,2026 by Resolution 2026-93,the City Council of the City
of Grand Island awarded Mid-Plains Construction Co. from Grand Island, Nebraska, a bid in the
amount of$2,784,000.00, for Improvements to the Train Area in Stolley Park; and on August 11,
2026 City Council approved Change Order No. 1 and No. 2 by Resolution 2026-219 in the amount
of$50,395.00; and
WHEREAS, as the project progressed some items were identified as beneficial or
required to complete the project; and
WHEREAS, such changes have been incorporated into Change Order No. 3; and
WHEREAS, the changes will be funded through Food & Beverage Funds
21100003-9999; and
WHEREAS,the result of Change Order No. 3 will increase the contract amount by
$4,822.00 for a revised contract amount of$2,839,217.00.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND,NEBRASKA,that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized and
directed to execute Change Order No. 3 between the City of Grand Island and Mid-Plains
Construction Co.from Grand Island,Nebraska to incorporate Change Order No. 3 in the amount of
$4,822.00 for a revised contract amount of$2,839,217.00. Changes include items related to the
modification of the west entry area design to shift paving away from an existing tree and move a
pavilion location to avoid an existing storm sewer pipe.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign all
related documents on behalf of the City of Grand Island.
