WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island has the opportunity to apply for a the Civic and
Community Center Financing Fund (CCCFF) grant for Heartland Events Center Ice Rink Chiller Plant
Revival; and
WHEREAS, the City must send a letter of intent by January 15th and a completed
application by February 15th; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island is requesting grant assistance in the amount of
$1,000,000 from the Nebraska Department of Economic Development(DED); and
WHEREAS, if the application is successful, the City of Grand Island would be required to
contribute the local fund match for the grant request,which amounts to $1,500,000. This would be
contingent upon appropriations being made for this project in the FY27 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the Mayor and/or City Administrator is hereby
authorized to complete all necessary paperwork to facilitate this application process.
