WHEREAS,the City Council,by authority of 22-77 of the Grand Island City Code,
may be resolution,entirely prohibit,or fix a time limit for the parking and stopping of vehicles in or
on any public street, public property, or potion thereof; and
WHEREAS, on November 21, 2023, via Resolution No. 2023-299, City Council
approved the initial lease agreement for the public parking lot at South Locust Street and 1st Street
with RW Sorensen Construction; and
WHEREAS, on July 9,2024,via Resolution No. 2024-153, City Council approved
the first amendment to the original lease agreement for the subject parking lot; and
WHEREAS, on December 17, 2024, via Resolution No. 2024-335, City Council
approved the second amendment to the original lease agreement for the subject parking lot; and
WHEREAS,on May 27,2025,via Resolution No.2025-168,City Council approved
the third amendment to the original agreement for the subject parking lot; and
WHEREAS,on August 5,2025,via Resolution No 2025-248,City Council approved
the revision to the original agreement for use of the Dodge Parking Lot at Wheeler Avenue and 1st
Street from July 1, 2025 to August 31, 2025 due to the Elks Lot reconstruction; and
WHEREAS,RW Sorensen Construction of Kearney,Nebraska requests to enter into
a lease agreement for use of the Elks Parking Lot at Wheeler Avenue and 1st Street from September
1, 2025 to October 31, 2025 for ten(10) parking stalls, according to attached Exhibit"A"; and
WHEREAS, an agreement for such dedicated parking stalls has been reviewed and
approved by the City Legal Department; and
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the City of Grand Island be, and hereby is,
authorized to enter into the Parking Lease Agreement with RW Sorensen Construction of Kearney,
Nebraska for dedicated parking stalls in the public parking lot at Wheeler Avenue and Pt Street,
according to the attached Exhibit"A".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to
execute such agreement on behalf of the City of Grand Island.
