WHEREAS,Grand Island has been home to the Nebraska State Fair since 2010;and
WHEREAS,more than 300,000 people visit the Nebraska State Fair each year; and
WHEREAS, The Nebraska State Fair wishes to enter into a service agreement with
the Grand Island Fire Department for onsite, fire and emergency medical services, and
WHEREAS, The Grand Island Fire Department will be compensated $40,890 in
exchange for their service at the 2026 Nebraska State Fair.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND,NEBRASKA,the agreement with the Nebraska State Fair for the
purpose of providing on-site fire and emergency medical services at the 2026 State Fair,as outlined
in the attached agreement, is hereby approved.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Grand Island, Nebraska, July 28, 2026.
