WHEREAS,the City of Grand Island has identified a critical needs for maintenance
and upgrades to the Big Iron Event Center(formerly Heartland Event Center); and
WHEREAS, the City's municipal code, specifically Chapter 27-63, explicitly
authorizes the acquisition of supplies, equipment, and services through cooperative purchasing
programs with other public agencies; and
WHEREAS, Musco Sports Lighting LLC holds a valid, competitively solicited
national contract under the Sourcewell Cooperative Program as Master Project No. 199030 and
Contract No. 041123-MSL; and
WHEREAS, acquiring arena lighting through this cooperative contract satisfies
all local, state, and competitive bidding requirements mandated by the City Code, while securing
best-value pricing and reducing administrative delays; and
WHEREAS, funding for the project will be from the bond proceeds received for the
maintenance and upgrades for Big Iron Event Center and Island Oasis.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND,NEBRASKA,that the bid from Musco Sports Lighting LLC for
$673,732 be hereby accepted and approved; and that the City Clerk shall store, retain, and make
available for access all related and herein referenced documents as contracts and agreements are
retained.
