WHEREAS, on September 23, 2025, Council approved a temporary construction
agreement for Hooker Brothers Sand&Gravel and that agreement is currently in good standing;and
WHEREAS, on November 18, 2025, Council approved a 30-day extension to the
agreement to allow for equipment repairs and upgrades; and
WHEREAS, the current agreement will expire on December 23, 2025; and
WHEREAS,the engine on the dredge has failed and is scheduled for repairs after the
first of the year; and
WHEREAS, with the engine repairs and expected weather and temperature
conditions, the process is expected to be restated around April 1, 2026, with a completion date of
May 1, 2026; and
WHEREAS,GIUD and Hooker Brothers Sand&Gravel are requesting an extension
to May 1, 2026.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND,NEBRASKA,the Hooker Brothers Sand&Gravel extension to
May 1, 2026, of agreement for temporary construction occupancy is approved.
