RESOLUTION 2005-109
WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island received notification that it will receive $34,581
in grant funds through the 2005 Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program; and
WHEREAS, the amount awarded is to be used by the Grand Island Police Department
and the Hall County Sheriffs Department in accordance with criteria established by the grant
program; and
WHEREAS, the Grand Island Police Department will serve as the fiscal agency on
the grant; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that the Hall County Sheriffs Department receive
$8,645, with the remainder ofthe funds to be used by the Grand Island Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Memorandum of Understanding has been reviewed by the
City Attorney.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the Memorandum of Understanding by and
between the City and the County of Hall for the disbursement of$8,645 in grant funds to the County
of Hall received by the City of Grand Island through the 2005 Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (JAG)
Program is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to
execute such Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of the City of Grand Island.
