RES 0 L UTI 0 N 2005-106
WHEREAS, on April 27 ,2004, by Resolution 2004-93, the City Council ofthe City
of Grand Island approved the proposal of Black & Veatch of Overland Park, Kansas for engineering
services for fuel storage and handling areas - evaluation and upgrades; and
WHEREAS, after the engineering contract was awarded, the State Fire Marshal's
office advised the City that the fuel stations would be required to be completely redesigned in
accordance with the National Fire Protection Association codes for motor fuel dispensing facilities
(NFP A 30A, 2003); and
WHEREAS, in order to meet these requirements, Black & Veatch will be required to
design and prepare specifications for a complete replacement; and
WHEREAS, Black & Veatch has agreed to perform the additional scope at a cost of
$7,900 for labor and expenses; and
WHEREAS, Change Order No.1 has been prepared outlining the additional work
involved in this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized and directed to
execute Change Order No. 1 between the City of Grand Island and Black & Veatch of Overland
Park, Kansas as set out above.
