WHEREAS, existing electric, water, and sewer utilities currently serving Fonner Park
must be relocated in preparation for the construction of the Heartland Events Center; and
WHEREAS, the cost of such utility relocations is estimated at $440,000; and
WHEREAS, as the City will become the owner of the Heartland Events Center upon
the fulfillment ofthe bond obligations, this cost will be paid by the City; and
WHEREAS, since the facility will become an asset ofthe City, it is reasonable that
the costs for utilities infrastructure be capitalized as part of the facility.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the costs of $440,000 for the relocation of
utilities infrastructure at the Heartland Events Center facility be authorized through the Capital
Projects fund of the current budget.
