WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island provides and develops parks and recreation
areas including hikelbike trails for public use; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island is proposing the development of Riverway
Hike/Bike Trail which will connect the trail currently at Central Community College property to pass
through College Park property, through Stuhr Museum property and onto the Wood River diversion
canal, connecting to Hall County Park and will continue along the canal until it eventually reaches
the Platte River; and
WHEREAS, such hikelbike trail will encroach on property owned by College Park;
and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that an Interlocal Agreement be entered into with
College Park to facilitate the development of such hikelbike trails; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney's office has prepared an Interlocal Agreement with
College Park for the development ofhikelbike trails across its property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the Interlocal Agreement by and between the
City and College Park at Grand Island, Nebraska, a Nebraska non-profit corporation, for the
development of a hikelbike trail across its property is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to
execute such Interlocal Agreement on behalf of the City of Grand Island.
