RES 0 L UTI 0 N 2004-195
WHEREAS, on March 24, 1998, the Nebraska Health and Human Services issued an
Order requiring compliance with the EP A Lead and Copper Rule; and
WHEREAS, the order required the preparation of an Optimum Corrosion Control
Treatment program which includes the addition ofliquid ortho-polyphosphate solution to the source
water; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island invited sealed bids for the Purchase of Liquid
Ortho-Polyphosphate for Corrosion Control, according to plans and specifications on file at the
Platte Generating Station; and
WHEREAS, on July 16, 2004, bids were received, opened and reviewed; and
WHEREAS, CalciQuest, Inc. of Belmont, North Carolina, submitted a bid in
accordance with the terms of the advertisement of bids and plans and specifications and all other
statutory requirements contained therein, such bid being in an amount not to exceed $80,820.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the evaluated bid of CalciQuest, Inc. of
Belmont, North Carolina, in an amount not to exceed $80,820.00 for the purchase ofliquid Ortho-
Polyphosphate for corrosion control is hereby approved as the lowest responsible bid.
