08/26/2003 Resolutions 2003-252 I I I RES 0 L UTI 0 N 2003-252 WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island invited sealed bids for Construction of Sludge Handling Improvements (Project 2003- WWTP-1), according to plans and specifications on file with the Purchasing Division of the Legal Department; and WHEREAS, on August 7, 2003, bids were received, opened and reviewed; and WHEREAS, John T. Jones Construction of Fargo, North Dakota, submitted a bid in accordance with the terms of the advertisement of bids and plans and specifications and all other statutory requirements contained therein, such bid being in the amount of$8,041,000 plus $421,000 for the additive alternate bid for a total bid of $8,462,000. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the bid of John T. Jones Construction of Fargo, North Dakota, in the base amount of$8,041,000 plus $421,000 for the additive alternate bid for a total bid of $8,462,000 for construction of sludge handling improvements (Project 2003- WWTP-1) is hereby approved as the lowest responsible bid. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a contract for such project between the City and such contractor be entered into, and the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute such contract on behalf of the City of Grand Island.
