08/12/2003 Resolutions 2003-219 I I I RESOLUTION 2003-219 WHEREAS, the Grand Island Police Department has received notification that they have been awarded $20,266.18 in grant funds from the Local Law Enforcement Block Grants (LLEBG) program; and WHEREAS, the funds are to be used for police equipment, not personnel costs; and WHEREAS, a pub lie hearing was held on August 12, 2003 as required to discuss the proposed use of such funds; and WHEREAS, it is proposed that the grant funds be used for the following purposes: portable radios with replacement batteries, replacement batteries for patrol officers' rechargeable flashlights, and unforeseen equipment needs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that approval be granted to utilize approximately $20,266.18 of grant funds received from the Local Law Enforcement Block Grants program for the items listed above.
