RES 0 L UTI 0 N 2003-62
WHEREAS, the City Council, by authority of Section 22-27 ofthe Grand Island City
Code, may by resolution regulate motor vehicle traffic upon the streets of the City of Grand Island;
and
WHEREAS, the traffic signal at the intersection of Koenig and Eddy Streets is
malfunctioning and will be expensive to repair; and
WHEREAS, the traffic flow of the intersection has been continually reviewed over
the past 20 years, and engineering studies have indicated that a four-way stop is an appropriate safety
measure for the intersection; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that the current traffic signal at such intersection be
replaced with stop signs requiring all traffic to stop before proceeding through the intersection; and
WHEREAS, it is in the city's best interests to effectuate such changes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that:
1.
Stop signs be installed at the intersection of Koenig Street and Eddy Street, requiring
all traffic to stop prior to entering such intersection.
2. The Street Department is hereby directed to install such signs to regulate traffic as
outlined above.
