RES 0 L UTI 0 N 2003-56
WHEREAS, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 requires
that a contract must be in place by April 14, 2003, between health care provider and all collection
agencies it utilizes in order to set out the terms and conditions for the disclosure of protected health
information; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island uses General Collection, Inc. and Credit
Management for the collection of delinquent ambulance billing; and
WHEREAS, a proposed Contract for Services for each company has been reviewed
and approved by the City Attorney's office.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that contracts with General Collection, Inc. and
Credit Management for the collection of delinquent ambulance billing is hereby approved; and the
Mayor is hereby authorized to execute such contracts on behalf of the City of Grand Island,
Nebraska.
