WHEREAS, renewal of a Juvenile Accountability Block Grant has been submitted to
the Nebraska Crime Commission by the City of Grand Island and the County of Hall for use in high
risk youth issues; and
WHEREAS, the grant requires a 10% match in City funds or approximately $3,500;
and
WHEREAS, the funds obtained through this grant are intended to be used for a
Juvenile Accountability/Probation Intake Officer; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that the City's portion of the grant award and the
City's required cash match be forwarded to the County of Hall to administer such grant funding; and
WHEREAS, an Interlocal Agreement between the City of Grand Island and the
County of Hall has been reviewed by the City Attorney's office.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the Interlocal Agreement by and between the
City of Grand Island and the County of Hall for the receipt and administration of the Juvenile
Accountability Block Grant funds and matching fund is hereby approved; and the Mayor is hereby
authorized and directed to execute such Interlocal Agreement on behalf of the City of Grand Island
upon the City's receipt of the grant award from the Nebraska Crime Commission.
