RES 0 L UTI 0 N 2002-8
WHEREAS, on April 1 0, 2000, by Resolution 2000-110, the City Council for the City
of Grand Island awarded the proposal submitted by CH2M Hill of Englewood, Colorado for
municipal water system engineering services for the Utilities Department; and
WHEREAS, as the specific project scopes could not be fully defined until preliminary
engineering analyses were completed by the consultant, the proposals were submitted with hourly
fee breakdowns rather than total project costs; and
WHEREAS, for purposes of awarding the best proposal, it was determined that an
amount not to exceed $100,000 would be authorized for such engineering services; and
WHEREAS, on May 30, 2000, subsequent to such City Council authority to proceed,
CH2M Hill submitted a cost proposal which more accurately outlined the scope of work to be
completed, such proposal was for the amount of$129,530; and
WHEREAS, in addition, due to the complex nature of the study, it was determined
that CH2M Hill would make two presentations to the City Council prior to the study being finalized,
rather than one presentation as initially anticipated, which resulted in additional costs of$2,100.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that:
1. Resolution 2000-110 is hereby amended to more accurately authorize the expenditure
of $129,530 for municipal water system engineering services to be performed by
CH2M Hill of Englewood, Colorado
2. Change Order No. 1 between the City of Grand Island and CH2M Hill is hereby
approved authorizing an additional $2,100 for the costs associated with an additional
presentation to the City Council of the municipal water system evaluation.
3. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute such documentation to
effectuate such changes.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Grand Island, Nebraska on January 8,2002.
