01/08/2002 Resolutions 2002-7 I I I RES 0 L UTI 0 N 2002-7 WHEREAS, on Apri125, 1994, by Resolution 94-099, the City Council for the City of Grand Island awarded the proposal submitted by CH2M Hill of Englewood, Colorado to conduct an Optimum Corrosion Control Study for the Utilities Department as required by the Environmental Protection Agency; and WHEREAS, in 1995, the project was halted as the science ofthe Copper Rule was contested by the State of Nebraska; and WHEREAS, after a number of studies by the Center for Disease Control, National Science Administration, meetings with the Environmental Protection Agency, and a lawsuit by the Nebraska Attorney General, the report is now due WHEREAS, due to the delay of the project, additional costs were incurred by CH2M Hill in completing the study; and WHEREAS, such delay has increased the contract amount by $400, for a total contract amount of$19,800. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized and directed to execute Change Order No.1, between the City of Grand Island and CH2M Hill to authorize an additional $400 for the completion of the Optimum Corrosion Control Study for the Utilities Department as required by the Environmental Protection Agency.
