10/09/2001 Resolutions 2001-287 I I I RESOLUTION 2001-287 WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island was required to perform emergency work of repairing potholes along the outside lanes of Second Street which appeared after the resurfacing of Second Street; and WHEREAS, using the City's standard procurement procedures would not allow the required repair work to be completed in an acceptable time frame; and WHEREAS, it was in the public interest to proceed immediately with the required repair work; and WHEREAS, It IS appropriate and necessary to deal with this emergency by proceeding under Section 27-13 of the Grand Island City Code (1988 ed.) and declare and authorize an emergency procurement procedure; and WHEREAS, lI.L. Asphalt Paving Company of Grand Island, Nebraska, was the company involved in the initial resurfacing work along Second Street, and is qualified to do such work; and WHEREAS, it is estimated that such emergency work can be completed by lI.L. Asphalt Paving Company for an amount not to exceed $11,000; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the use ofthe City's emergency procurement procedures in this situation is hereby ratified. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that emergency work shall be completed by lI.L. Asphalt Paving Company of Grand Island, Nebraska, for the not to exceed figure of$11,000. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a contract between the City and such contractor be entered into for such project, and the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute such contract on behalf of the City of Grand Island.
