RESOLUTION 2001-264
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Grand Island are committed
to the orderly plan necessary to accommodate future growth and transportation needs; and,
WHEREAS, on August 24, 1992, by Resolution 92-215, the City of Grand Island
approved and adopted the Comprehensive Land Use and Transportation Plan and associated figures
and maps as prepared by the firm ofBRW, Inc. of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and,
WHEREAS, an amendment to such plan is requested to change the future land use
designation on the following property:
A tract ofland comprising a part ofthe Southwest Quarter (SWI!4) of Section One
(1), Township Eleven (11) North, Range Ten (10) West of the 6th P.M., in the City
of Grand Island, Hall County, Nebraska, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the west line of said Southwest Quarter (SWI/4), said point
being Fifty Eight (58.0) feet north of the southwest comer of said Southwest Quarter
(SWI/4), said point also being on the westerly prolongation ofthe northerly right-of-
way line of Capital Avenue; thence running northerly, along and upon the west line
of said Southwest Quarter (SWl/4), a distance of Two Hundred Ninety Five (295.0)
feet; thence deflecting right 90036'36" and running easterly, parallel with the south
line of said Southwest Quarter (SWI/4), a distance of Three Hundred Thirty Five
(335.0) feet; thence deflecting right 89023'24" and running southerly, parallel with
the west line of said Southwest Quarter (SWl/4), a distance of Two Hundred Ninety
Five (295.0) feet to a point on said northerly right-of-way line of Capital Avenue,
said point being Fifty Eight (58.0) feet north of (measured perpendicular to) the south
line of said Southwest Quarter (SWl/4); thence deflecting right 90036'36" and
running westerly, along and upon said northerly right-of-way line of Capital Avenue
and its westerly prolongation, and also being Fifty Eight (58.0) feet north of
(measured perpendicular to) and parallel with, the south line of said Southwest
Quarter (SWl/4), a distance of Three Hundred Thirty Five (335.0) feet to the point
of beginning and containing 2.269 acres, more or less; and
WHEREAS, such amendment was reviewed by the Regional Planning Commission
and a recommendation was forwarded to the City of Grand Island on September 5, 2001.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the City of Grand Island hereby approves and
adopts an amendment to the Comprehensive Land Use and Transportation Plan and associated
figures and maps to change the intended future use of the above described property from
"Transitional Agricultural" to "Light Business".
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Grand Island, Nebraska on September 25,2001.
