07/24/2001 Resolutions 2001-187 I I I RES 0 L UTI 0 N 2001-187 WHEREAS, the Moonshell Arts and Humanities Council solicited proposals from qualified artists to develop a public artwork display or outdoor mural in the downtown area; and WHEREAS, the Moonshell Arts and Humanities Council and the City of Grand Island have selected Greg Holdren through procedures duly adopted by them in consultation with the Nebraska Arts Council Rules and Regulations to design execute, fabricate and install a work of art on the outside wall of the north side of the building at 313 North Locust Street; and WHEREAS, an agreement for commission of public artwork has been developed with the held of the Nebraska Arts Council which establishes the responsibilities of the Moonshell Arts and Humanities Council, artist Greg Holdren, and the City of Grand Island; and WHEREAS, the City's responsibilities would be limited to design approval, progress checks, and pre-installation activities including public security, landscaping, and upkeep/maintenance of the site; and WHEREAS, the proposed Agreement for Commission of Public Art Work has been reviewed and approved by the City Attorney. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the Agreement for Commission of Public Art Work by and between the City, the Moonshell Arts and Humanities Council, and Greg Holdren for the development of a public artwork display or outdoor mural on the outside wall ofthe north side of the building at 313 North Locust Street is hereby approved; and the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute such agreement on behalf of the City of Grand Island.
