05/22/2001 Resolutions 2001-133 I I I RESOLUTION 2001-133 WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island has acquired a 420 acre tract of land on CHAAP as a future location for a multi-purpose recreational sports facility with the primary emphasis on R V camping, law enforcement training and shooting sports; and WHEREAS, the Nebraska Game and Parks commission has been monitoring progress on this project since 1997 and at their regular meeting on January 19,2001, unanimously passed a resolution directing their staff to work with the City of Grand Island to develop a joint plan for funding and constructing the facilities at CHAAP; and WHEREAS, in order to develop a cost-sharing arrangement with the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, the Grand Island Skeet and Sporting Clays Club, Inc. (Skeet Club) and Homady Manufacturing Co. (Homady), a preliminary design and cost estimates need to be developed; and, WHEREAS, Clark Vargas ofPQHlVargas Architects Engineers has agreed to provide to Homady the required preliminary planning and cost estimating services required by the various parties for a total fee of$25,000; and, WHEREAS, it has been suggested that Mr. Vargas' services be paid by Homady Manufacturing subject to reimbursement by the Skeet Club and the City in the amount of 1/3 each. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that an agreement between the City of Grand Island, Grand Island Skeet and Sporting Clays Club, Inc. and Homady Manufacturing Co. be approved to share equally the cost of developing conceptual designs and construction costs for the multi-purpose recreational sports facility to be located on the CHAAP property owned by the City.
