RESOLUTION 2001-125
WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island has been awarded federal fimds through the
University of Nebraska - Nebraska Forest Service (UNL-NFS) to develop and implement
landscaping projects to enhance the state's transportation corridors; and
WHEREAS, the funds will be used for the installation of trees, shrubs, approved
perennials, and/or wildflowers at Plum Street Park; and
WHEREAS, UNL-NFS agrees to reimburse the City 80% of the actual eligible costs
expended up to a maximum of$12,000; and
WHEREAS, the City's share of such project costs is 20%, or not more than $2,400.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed
to execute the Nebraska Community Enhancement Program Agreement of May 2001 for the receipt
of up to $12,000 in federal funds through the University of Nebraska- Nebraska Forest Service for
the installation oftrees, shrubs approved perennials andlor wildflowers at Plum Street Park in Grand
Island, Nebraska.
