04/24/2001 Resolutions 2001-109 I I I RES 0 L UTI 0 N 2001-109 WHEREAS, the Wastewater Treatment Plant has been working with area landowners since 1980 in applying sludge to farm ground; and WHEREAS, this process normally begins in late February and is completed by the first week in April; and WHEREAS, due to the adverse weather conditions this past winter and spring, the application of sludge to farm ground did not start until March 29; and WHEREAS, the remaining sludge at the plant must be removed from the lagoon in order to allow refilling during the summer months; and WHEREAS, an area farmer has agreed to allow the City to continue applying sludge to his farm until May 7, at a cost to the City of $6,000. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that approval is hereby granted to allow sludge from the Wastewater Treatment Plant to be applied to farm ground owned by Ken W oitaszewski until May 7,2001, at a cost to the City of$6,000.
