04/24/2001 Resolutions 2001-103 I I I RESOLUTION 2001-103 WHEREAS, the Nebraska Children and Families Foundation works in partnership with communities to improve the health and well-being of children and families of all cultural backgrounds; and WHEREAS, the Nebraska Children and Families Foundation has recommended that the City of Grand Island be provided funds awarded to the Foundation for continuation of the programs carried out by the Community Youth Council that are designed to meet these goals; and WHEREAS, a Letter of Agreement between the Nebraska Children and Families Foundation, the State of Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, and the City of Grand Island is required to set out the responsibilities of each party with respect to the use of funding for the implementation of such program; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney's office has reviewed and approved such agreement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that: 1. The Letter of Agreement between the Nebraska Children and Families Foundation and the City of Grand Island for the use of grant funds in the amount of$50,000 to finance programs of community activities intended to fight racism, to reduce drug and alcohol usage, and to support families as outlined in the agreement is hereby approved for the period of October 1,2000 through September 30,2001. 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute such agreement on behalf ofthe City of Grand Island. Adopted by the City Council of the City of Grand Island, Nebraska on April 24, 2001.
