RESOLUTION 2001-89
WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island and the Nebraska Department of Roads desire
to improve U.S. Highway 30 in Grand Island from just east of the Burlington Northern Sante Fe
Railroad viaduct to just west of Warm Slough by building a five-lane urban highway including
grading, storm sewer, concrete pavement, relocation of Stuhr Road intersection, traffic signals and
roadway lighting; and
WHEREAS, said project will eliminate problematic connections with Stuhr Road and
Seedling Mile Road; and
WHEREAS, the total project costs are anticipated to be $5,177,758, with the City's
share to be 20% or approximately $1,035,552; and
WHEREAS, an agreement with the Nebraska Department of Roads is required to
proceed with this project, known as Project No. S-30-4(1019).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the agreement with the Nebraska Department
of Roads for the improvement of U.S. Highway 30 in Grand Island from just east ofthe Burlington
Northern Sante Fe Railroad viaduct to just west of Warm Slough by building a five-lane urban
highway including grading, storm sewer, concrete pavement, relocation of Stuhr Road intersection,
traffic signals and roadway lighting is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to
execute such agreement on behalf of the City of Grand Island.
