03/27/2001 Resolutions 2001-79 I I I RESOLUTION 2001-79 WHEREAS, in order to ensure the continuation of the success ofIs1and Oasis Water Park, it is important to continually update and improve such facility; and WHEREAS, the current policy is that such capital improvements at Island Oasis be funded from operating revenues in the Aquatics Reserve Fund; and WHEREAS, at its annual retreat, the Mayor and City Council expressed an interest in amending this policy in an effort to maintain admission fees at a reasonable level; and WHEREAS, it is recommended that future capital improvements at Island Oasis be funded equally between the Aquatics Reserve Fund and sales and property tax revenues in the general fund.; and WHEREAS, it is advised that further payments from the Aquatic Reserve Fund on the balance of the loan from the general fund for the Lazy River addition be waived. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the policy for funding all future capital improvements at Island Oasis be amended to allow these projects to be paid fifty percent from the Aquatics Reserve Fund and fifty percent from sales and property tax revenues in the general fund. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that further payments from the Aquatics Reserve Fund on the balance of the loan from the general fund for the addition of the Lazy River are hereby waived.
