12/05/2000 Resolutions 2000-367 I I I RES 0 L UTI 0 N 2000-367 WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island has experienced a rapid rate of growth and created demands on the utility systems which require professional consultation services at various times on either unrelated or continuing related problems to operation, maintenance, alterations, small design improvement and emergency work; and WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island is required by bond covenants to retain an engineering firm for such services; and WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island has utilized the engineering services of Lutz, Daily and Brain since 1978 and such firm has successfully provided engineering services to the City in the past, including design of the City Wellfie1d, Burdick and Platte Power Plants, water pumping stations and reservoirs, electric substations, power lines and water lines; and WHEREAS, due to Lutz, Daily and Brain's familiarity with the City's utility operations, it is recommended that such engineering services be continued, however it is suggested that such contract be restated to incorporate changes to the current utility environment; and WHEREAS, the Restated Engineering Services Contract has been reviewed and approved by the City Attorney's office. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the Restated Contract for Engineering Services by and between the City and Lutz, Daily and Brain of Overland Park, Kansas is hereby approved, and the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute such contract on behalf of the City of Grand Island.
