10/10/2000 Resolutions 2000-311 I I I RES 0 L UTI 0 N 2000-311 WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island invited proposals to build a new single family home on the site at 925 North Lambert and on the site at 917 North Lambert to be sold under the Affordable Housing Program, according to plans and Request for Proposals on file with the Community Development Division of the Community Projects Department; and WHEREAS, proposals were due on September 22, 2000; and WHEREAS, Starostka Group Co. of Grand Island, Nebraska, submitted a proposal in accordance with the terms of the Request for Proposals and all other statutory requirements contained therein; such proposal being to purchase the property at 925 North Lambert Street for $1.00, and to construct a $63,999 3-bedroom, single family, 1008 square foot ranch-style house on the property; and WHEREAS, Dan Kunze of Grand Island, Nebraska, submitted a proposal in accordance with the terms of the Request for Proposals and all other statutory requirements contained therein; such proposal being to purchase the property at 917 North Lambert Street for $300.00, and to construct a $58,500 3-bedroom, single family, 1092 square foot ranch-style house on the property; and WHEREAS, the City will sell the dwellings, upon completion, under the Home Ownership Opportunity Program, and will provide down-payment assistance to qualified low-income homebuyers. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the proposal ofStarostka Group Co. of Grand Island for the purchase of property at 925 North Lambert Street for $1.00 to construct a $63,999 3- bedroom, single family, 1008 square foot ranch-style house on the property in accordance with the Contract of Sale is hereby approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proposal of Dan Kunze of Grand Island for the purchase of property at 917 North Lambert Street for $300.00 to construct a $58,500 3-bedroom, single family, 1092 square foot ranch-style house on the property in accordance with the Contract of Sale is hereby approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a contract by and between the city and such contractors be entered into for such proj ects; and the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute such agreement on behalf of the City of Grand Island.
