08/15/2000 Resolutions 2000-242 I I I RES 0 L UTI 0 N 2000-242 WHEREAS, the City Council, by authority of 922-77 of the Grand Island City Code, may by resolution, entirely prohibit, or fix a time limit for the parking and stopping of vehicles in or on any public street, public property, or portion thereof; and WHEREAS, Grand Island Senior High School has requested that restricted parking on Forrest Street and portions of Lafayette Avenue on the school side of the street between the hours of7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to help maintain a safe environment for students WHEREAS, it is recommended that a "No Parking" zone be implemented from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the south side of Forrest Street from Custer Avenue to Lafayette Avenue and on the west side of Lafayette Avenue from the north side ofthe south driveway into the High School to Forrest Street; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City to effect such regulations. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that: 1. A "No Parking" zone be established from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the south side of Forrest Street from Custer Avenue to Lafayette Avenue, and on the west side of Lafayette Avenue from the north side of the south driveway into the High School to Forrest Street. 2. The Street Department is directed to erect and maintain the signs and street markings necessary to effect the above regulations.
