06/13/2000 Resolutions 2000-177 I I I RES 0 L UTI 0 N 2000-177 WHEREAS, Fred H. Bosselman and Maxine Bosselman, husband and wife, and Jerome W. Niedfelt and Doralene F. Niedfelt, husband and wife, and Ernest J. Thayer and Janice M. Thayer, husband and wife, have expressed an interest in selling to the City approximately 22.281 acres of land located in an area bounded to the north by the Union Pacific Railroad mainline, to the east by Webb Road and to the west by U.S. Highway 281, for future cemetery land use; and WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the property will be used for athletic fields until such time as it is needed for cemetery use; and WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on June 13, 2000 for the purpose of discussing the proposed acquisition of property; and WHEREAS, the purchase price of the property is $345,000; and WHEREAS, an Agreement for Warranty Deed has been prepared by the City Attorney's office for such acquisition of property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the City of Grand Island is hereby authorized to acquire approximately 22.281 acres of property from Fred H. Bosselman and Maxine Bosselman, husband and wife, and Jerome W. Niedfelt and Doralene F. Niedfelt, husband and wife, and Ernest J. Thayer and Janice M. Thayer, husband and wife as set out in the Agreement for Warranty Deed. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Agreement for Warranty Deed for such conveyance of property is hereby approved; and the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute such agreement on behalf of the City of Grand Island.
