RESOLUTION 2000-148
WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island is interested in improving the flow of traffic
at the intersection of U.S. Highway 281 and Stolley Park Road; and
WHEREAS, it is recommended that the traffic signal be upgraded at such intersection
by replacing the magnetic loop detectors with video cameras and computer loops; and
WHEREAS, State funding has been approved for 50% of the project cost; and
WHEREAS, an agreement between the City and the Nebraska Department of Roads
has been reviewed and approved by the City Attorney's office.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed
to sign on behalf of the City of Grand Island, the agreement by and between the City and the State
of Nebraska Department of Roads for the installation of an upgraded traffic signal detection device
at the intersection of U.S. Highway 281 and Stolley Park Road, known as Project ELEC-281-
2(1021), according to the terms of the agreement.
