03/27/2000 Resolutions 2000-102 I I I RES 0 L UTI 0 N 2000-102 WHEREAS, the City Council, by authority of 922-77 ofthe Grand Island City Code, may by resolution, entirely prohibit, or fix a time limit for the parking and stopping ofvehic1es in or on any public street, public property, or portion thereof; and WHEREAS, parking is presently not allowed on South Front Street between Walnut Street and Pine Street; and WHEREAS, as a result of the Downtown Study, it has been suggested that parallel parking be permitted on the south side of South Front Street from the east side of Walnut Street to the west side of the driveway into the Post Office Drop Box, and between Locust Street and Pine Street; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City to release such parking ban on the above-referenced area. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that: 1. Parallel parking be allowed on the south side of South Front Street :from the east side of Walnut Street to the west side of the driveway into the Post Office Drop Box, and between Locust Street and Pine Street. 2. The Street Department is directed to remove the No Parking signs in this area, and to complete street markings necessary to effect the above regulation.
