WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island invited bids for Street Improvement District
No. 1225 for the Public Works Department, according to the plans and specifications on file in the
office of the City Engineer; and
WHEREAS, on March 7, 2000, bids were received, opened and reviewed; and
WHEREAS, Diamond Engineering Co. of Grand Island, Nebraska, submitted a bid
in accordance with the terms of the advertisement of bids and the plans and specifications and all
other statutory requirements contained therein, such bid being in the amount of$390,667.70; and
WHEREAS, Diamond Engineering's bid is less than the engineer's estimate for said
proj ect.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the bid of Diamond Engineering Co. of Grand
Island, Nebraska, in the amount of$390,667.70 for Street Improvement District No. 1225 be, and
the same hereby is, approved as the lowest responsive bid submitted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a contract for such project be entered into
between the City and such contractor; and that the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to
execute such contract on behalf of the City of Grand Island.
