02/07/2000 Resolutions 2000-36 I I I RES 0 L UTI 0 N 2000-36 WHEREAS, on December 20, 1999, by Resolution 99-401, the City of Grand Island approved the proposal of Zoo Plan of Wichita, Kansas, for the development of a Site Plan for the Grand Island Heritage Zoo; and WHEREAS, it will be necessary to continue operating the zoo until the site plan is developed and the designated improvements are implemented; and WHEREAS, hiring a director for the zoo at this time is not feasible; and WHEREAS, Zoo Plan has proposed to offer directorial assistance to allow the zoo to be operated throughout this time period; and WHEREAS, Zoo Plan's proposal includes the services of Jack Jones and Mike LaRue at the hourly rate of $1 05 per hour plus expenses incurred and a 15% markup to cover the cost of handling, the total cost however will not exceed $30,000; and WHEREAS, it is in the City's best interests to contract with Zoo Plan for temporary directorial assistance at the Grand Island Heritage Zoo. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the proposal of Zoo Plan of Wichita, Kansas, for temporary directorial assistance at the Grand Island Heritage Zoo at an hourly rate of $1 05 per hour plus expenses and a 15% markup to cover the cost of handling, with a total not to exceed amount of $30,000. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a contract by and between the city and such contractor be entered into for such project; and the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute such agreement on behalf of the City of Grand Island.
