Councilmember Pielstick mentioned reasons to take into consideration for changing the meeting dates such as work schedules, other meetings, etc. Mr. Ferguson discussed the process of the council packets if the dates were changed. Councilmember Whitesides stated that the reason some councilmembers liked Tuesday nights was that packets were not received until late on Friday's, which gave council time to study the packet and contact staff on Monday's. Councilmember Hornady stated that having the meetings stretch out into the workweek made it difficult for her work schedule. Councilmember Nickerson asked why the meeting dates where changed to Tuesday nights to begin with. Mr. Ferguson explained it was to give council an extra day to contact staff.
