08/24/2004 Ordinances 8927 I ORDINANCE NO. 8927 An ordinance to amend "The Annual Appropriation Bill" of the City of Grand Island, Nebraska, to revise the budget statement pursuant to the Nebraska Budget Act for the fiscal year commencing October 1, 2003 and ending September 30, 2004; to provide for severability; and to provide for publication and the effective date ofthis ordinance. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA: SECTION 1. An amended appropriation is hereby made for the ensuing fiscal year to defray all necessary expenses and liabilities of City departments, funds, and operations. The object and purpose of the appropriation shall be to pay for any and all necessary expenses and liabilities for the following departments, funds, and operations. The foregoing amendment is necessary and prudent to address circumstances which could not have been reasonably anticipated at the time of the enactment of I The Annual Appropriation Bill, Ordinance No. 8835, or the amendment thereto, Ordinance No. 8894. Fund transfers as provided above shall increase the appropriation for the Debt Service Approved as to Form II August 17, 2004 II City Attorney I I I ORDINANCE NO. 8927 (Cont.) Fund by $2,160,000 for the retirement of Series 1999 Various Purpose Bonds and related expenses. The revision will also increase budgeted appropriation for the Solid Waste Enterprise Fund by $2,850,000 for the retirement of Series 1998 Solid Waste Agency Revenue Bonds and related expenses. Budgeted revenues for the Debt Service Fund and Solid Waste Enterprise Fund will increase by $2,160,000 and $2,850,000 respectively. SECTION 3. The foregoing appropriate amendments and expenditures will increase the previously adopted total budgeted expenditures beyond that initially adopted and amended in the amount of$5,010,000. SECTION 4. If any section, subsection, or any other portion of this ordinance is held to be invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed separate, distinct, and independent, and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions thereof. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in force and take effect from and after its passage and publication, within fifteen days in one issue of the Grand Island Independent as provided by law.
