ORDINANCE NO. 8554
An ordinance rezoning a certain tract of land within the zoning jurisdiction of the
City of Grand Island; changing the land use classification of tracts of land located in the East
Half of the Southeast Quarter (EYz SE'i4) of Section Five (25), Township Eleven (11) North,
Range Ten (10) West of the 6th P.M. in Hall County, Nebraska from TA-Transitional Agriculture
Zone to a combination of B2 General Business Zone and R4 High Density Residential Zone;
directing the such zoning change and classification be shown on the Official Zoning Map of the
City of Grand Island; amending the provisions of Section 36-7; and providing for publication and
an effective date of this ordinance.
WHEREAS, the Regional Planning Commission on January 5, 2000, held a
public hearing and made a recommendation on the proposed zoning of such area; and
WHEREAS, notice as required by Section 19-923, R.R.S. 1943, has been given to
the Board of Education of School District No.2 in Hall County, Nebraska; and
WHEREAS, after public hearing on January 10, 2000, the City Council found and
determined the change in zoning be approved and made.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA:
SECTION 1. The following tract of land is hereby rezoned and reclassified and
changed from T A- Transitional Agriculture Zone to R4-High Density Residential Zone:
A tract of land comprising the westerly Six Hundred Fifty (650::!::) feet of the
northerly One Thousand Forty (1040::!::) feet of the southerly One Thousand Eight
Hundred Fifty (1850::!::) of the East Half of the Southeast Quarter (EYz SE'i4), and
the westerly Seven Hundred Seventy One (771) feet of the northerly Three
Hundred (300::!::) feet of the southerly Eight Hundred Ten (81 O::!::) feet of said East
Half of the Southeast Quarter (EY2 SE'i4), all in Section Twenty Five (25),

Township Eleven (11) North, Range Ten (10) West of the 6th P.M. in Hall
County, Nebraska, said tract containing 20.8i acres, more or less.
SECTION 2. The following tract of land is hereby rezoned and reclassified and
changed from TA-Transitional Agriculture Zone to B2 General Business Zone:
A tract of land comprising the northerly One Thousand Seven Hundred Eighty
Eight (1788i) feet of the East Half of the Southeast Quarter (EYz SEY4), of Section
Twenty Five (25), Township Eleven (11) North, Range Ten (10) West of the 6th
P.M., in Hall County, Nebraska, EXCEPTING THEREFROM, the westerly Six
Hundred Fifty (650i) feet of the northerly One Thousand Forty (1040i) feet of
the southerly One Thousand Eight Hundred Fifty (1850i) feet of said East Half of
the Southeast Quarter (EYz SEY4), and that portion dedicated for U.S. Highway
281 Right-of-Way. Said tract containing 33.2i acres, more or less.
SECTION 3. The following tract of land is hereby rezoned and reclassified and
changed from T A- Transitional Agriculture Zone to B2 General Business Zone:
A tract of land comprising the westerly Seven Hundred Seventy One (771i) feet
of the southerly Five Hundred Fifty Five (555i) feet, of the East Half of the
Southeast Quarter (EYz SEY4) of Section Twenty Five (25), Township Eleven (11)
North, Range Ten (10) West of the 6th P.M., in Hall County, Nebraska,
EXCEPTING THEREFROM, that portion dedicated for Husker Highway Right-
of- Way, that portion dedicated to Laugenheder Street Right-of-Way and that
portion deeded to the City of Grand Island, Nebraska as recorded in the Register
of Deeds office as Document No. 78-000395, said tract containing 8.7i acres,
more or less.
SECTION 4. That the Official Zoning Map of the City of Grand Island,
Nebraska, as established by Section 36-7 of the Grand Island City Code be, and the same is,
hereby ordered to be changed, amended, and completed in accordance with this ordinance.
SECTION 5. That this ordinance shall be in force and take effect from and after
its passage and publication, within fifteen days in one issue of the Grand Island Independent as
provided by law.
