WHEREAS, a public utility easement is required by the City of Grand Island from
Hope Harbor to survey, construct, inspect, maintain,repair,replace, relocate, extend, remove, and
operate thereon, public utilities and appurtenances, including power lines; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on August 25, 2026, for the purpose of
discussing the proposed acquisition of a fifteen foot by twenty foot(15'x 20')wide utility easement
tract in part of Lot Two (2), Hope Harbor Subdivision, in the City of Grand Island, Hall County,
Nebraska; the boundary of the utility easement and right-of-way tract being more particularly
described as follows:
The westerly twenty (20.0) feet of the northerly fifteen (15.0) feet of the southerly
thirty-one(31.0)feet of Lot Two(2),Hope Harbor Subdivision in the City of Grand
Island, Hall County, Nebraska.
The above-described easement and right-of-way containing 300 square feet or 0.007
acres,more or less,as shown on the plat dated 7/6/2026,marked Exhibit"A",attached
hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND,NEBRASKA, that the City of Grand Island be, and hereby is,
authorized to acquire a public utility easement from Hope Harbor on, over and below the tract of
land described herein and as depicted on Exhibit A hereto for one dollar($1.00)and mutual benefits
received.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and designee are hereby authorized to
execute all documents necessary to effect the purpose of this Resolution.
Adopted by the City Council of the City of Grand Island, Nebraska, August 25, 2026.
