WHEREAS, on October 14, 2025 by Resolution 2025-350,the City Council of the
City of Grand Island awarded Nemaha Sports Construction, LLC from Lincoln,Nebraska, a bid in
the amount of$3,745,600.00, for Ryder Park Legion Baseball Field Improvements; and
WHEREAS, as the project progressed some changes were identified in the plans
to further enhance the project; and
WHEREAS, such changes have been incorporated into Change Order No. 2; and
WHEREAS,the changes will be funded through Food& Beverage Funds
21100003-9999; and
WHEREAS, the result of such changes will increase the contract amount by
$82,455.00 for a revised contract amount of$3,828,575.35.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND,NEBRASKA,that the Mayor be,and hereby is, authorized and
directed to execute Change Order No. 2 between the City of Grand Island and Nemaha Sports
Construction, LLC from Lincoln, Nebraska to incorporate the change order in the amount of
$82,455.00 for a revised contract amount of$3,828,575.35. Changes include:
RAIL CHANGE AT RAMP $6,700.00 Additional required railing that was added after building inspection
EXHAUST FAN REMOVAL AND PATCH $684.00 Removal of existing exhaust structures identified as tripping hazards
and patching with tied in concrete
PLAZA TREE REMOVAL $1,450.00 Removal of damaged tree near south entrance
GRANDSTAND/BACKSTOP GAP $4,482.00 Fill in gap between bandstand and backstop
ORIGINAL TREE REMOVAL $1,991.00 Remove ash tree(infected)
DRINK RAIL $1,645.00 Add additional drink rail
CONCRETE FILL WHERE TREE REMOVED IN PLAZA $570.00 Filled in landscape area with concrete where tree was removed
RIP RAP IN DRAINAGE AREA $4,130.00 Add Rip Rap to reduce erosion of drainage flows from parking lot
MISC FENCE CHANGES $1,305.00 42"stadium rail behind top bleacher and south grandstand stairs(both
called out in building inspection
IRRIGATION INCREASE $32,658.00 Substantial improvements/repairs required to existing park irrigation
systems impacted by the construction
FLUME WITHIN DRAINAGE AREA $12,375.00 Concrete flume to direct water/reduce ponding water near entrance
SOD WITHIN FLUME/DRAINAGE AREA $7,375.00 Sod within drainage area(seeding would not establish)
BATTING CAGE MANHOLE ADJUSTMENT $511.00 Manhole in batting cage was covered with turf,it was called out during
public works inspection.Installed removable lid
ADDED ELECTRICAL REQUESTS $6,579.00 Re-route conduit,moved irrigation controller,added electrical
receptacle near entrance,removed old wiring from stadium canopy
TOTAL CHANGE ORDER AMOUNT $82,455.00
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign all related documents on
behalf of the City of Grand Island.
