06/23/2026 Resolutions 2026-171 RESOLUTION 2026 -171 WHEREAS, a public utility easement is required by the City of Grand Island from Chief Industries, Inc. to survey, construct, inspect, maintain, repair, replace, relocate, extend, remove, and operate thereon, public utilities and appurtenances, including power lines; and WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on June 23, 2026, for the purpose of discussing the proposed acquisition of a sixteen(16) foot wide utility easement tract in part of Lot One (1), CBC Second Subdivision, in the City of Grand Island, Hall County, Nebraska; the boundary of the utility easement and right-of-way tract being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the Southwest corner of Lot Three (3) Hayman's Subdivision; thence easterly along the southerly line of said Lot Three (3), said line also being a particular northerly line of Lot One (1), CBC Second Subdivision, a distance of six hundred twenty-five and seventeen hundredths(625.17)feet to the Southeast corner of said Lot Three (3), in the City of Grand Island, Hall County,Nebraska. The above-described easement and right-of-way containing 0.23 acres,more or less,as shown on the plat dated 5/12/2026, marked Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND,NEBRASKA, that the City of Grand Island be, and hereby is, authorized to acquire a public utility easement from Chief Industries, Inc. on, over and below the tract of land described herein and as depicted on Exhibit A hereto for one dollar($1.00)and mutual benefits received. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and designee are hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary to effect the purpose of this Resolution.
