06/09/2026 Resolutions 2026-152 RESOLUTION 2026-152 WHEREAS,the City of Grand Island Police Department wishes to apply for the BJA FY25 De-escalation and Crisis Response Training Program Grant for federal assistance; and WHEREAS,the grant will be used to purchase virtual reality training equipment to be used by officers during required manual training hours and in the daily performance of their duties; and WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island Police Department will be requesting $300,000 in federal funds with no local match required; and WHEREAS, if awarded, the estimated cost for the purchase of portable virtual reality training equipment is estimated at $300,000.00 with no local match requested to be spent during FY27. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND ISLA ^+•, NEBRASKA, that the City of Grand Island Police Department is hereby authorized to applyak r the BJA FY25 De-escalation and Crisis Response Training Program Grant application in the amaunt of$300,000.00. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the application and all other relevant documents in furtherance of the BJA FY25 De-escalation and Crisis Response Training R?ogram Grant.
