WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island invited sealed bids for 13th Street Sanitary
Sewer Main Extension-Engleman Road to 60th Road;Project No.2025-S-6,according to plans and
specifications on file with the Public Works Department; and
WHEREAS, on June 2, 2026 bids were received, opened, and reviewed; and
WHEREAS, Midlands Contracting, Inc. of Kearney, Nebraska submitted a bid in
accordance with the terms of the advertisement of bids and plans and specifications and all other
statutory requirements contained therein, such bid being in the amount of$1,672,352.45; and
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, that the bid of Midlands Contracting, Inc. of
Kearney,Nebraska in the amount of$1,672,352.45 for 13th Street Sanitary Sewer Main Extension-
Engleman Road to 60th Road;Project No.2025-S-6 is hereby approved as the lowest responsible bid.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,that the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to
execute such agreement on behalf of the City of Grand Island and that the City Clerk shall store,
retain,and make available for access all related and herein referenced documents in the same manner
as contracts and agreements are retained.
