WHEREAS,on December 30,2025,via Resolution No.2025-425,the City of Grand
Island awarded C Lazy B Land Development of Kearney, Nebraska the bid in the amount of
$1,013,599.95 for Grand Island Regional Landfill Cell 4 Construction;Project No.2025-LF-1; and
WHEREAS,due to the existing bottom of Cell 4 and the prior stormwater detention
cell requiring more over-excavation than previously anticipated,additional fill material is required to
bring the elevation up to begin the compacted soil layer below the proposed reinforced geosynthetic
clay liner system; and
WHEREAS,an additional 12,200.00 cubic yards of compacted subbase is required to
complete this work; and
WHEREAS,the contractor has agreed to unit pricing in the current bid of$4.00 per
cubic yard, resulting in an additional $48,800.00 to the original contract; and
WHEREAS,such modifications have been incorporated into Change Order No. 1 for
a contract increase of$48,g10.00, resulting in a revised contract amount of$1,062,399.95.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND,NEBRASKA,that the Mayor be, and hereby is, authorized and
directed to execute Change Order No. 1, in the amount of$48,800.00, between the City of Grand
Island and C Lazy B Land Development of Kearney,Nebraska to provide the modifications.
