WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island purchased property located at 2299 Camp
Augustine Rd., Doniphan, Nebraska, more commonly known as Camp Augustine on October 31,
2023 from Overland Trails Council of Boy Scouts of America, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the City obtained an Appraisal of the Camp Augustine site in
preparation for sale to the Nebraska Game and Parks Foundation; and
WHEREAS, an appraisal is required by law for a municipality to sell real estate in
Nebraska; and
WHEREAS, the appraisal was received on February 10, 2026; and
WHEREAS, the appraisal received gives the fair market value of Camp Augustine
as $2,150,000; and
WHEREAS, the Nebraska Game and Parks Foundation("Foundation") has agreed
to purchase Camp Augustine for the appraised amount; and
WHEREAS, a Purchase Option Agreement was negotiated with the Foundation;
and
WHEREAS, the Foundation agrees to pay to the City the Option Price $21,000
now; and
WHEREAS,the Option Agreement will be for a term of thirty-six(36)months; and
WHEREAS, the Foundation has until April 30, 2029 to exercise the Option to
Purchase; and
WHEREAS, at the time of the exercise of the Option to Purchase, the Foundation
will receive credit on the purchase price in the amount of the option price; and
WHEREAS, the sale of Camp Augustine to the Foundation will be subject to the
thirty day remonstrance period as required by Nebraska law; and
WHEREAS,the legal description for Camp Augustine is as follows:

effectuate the sale of Camp Augustine.
