WHEREAS, the City approved the Grand Island Police Department's budget
authority to purchase police in car camera systems and body worn cameras (BWC) for
documentation, reporting, and evidence collection; and
WHEREAS,the Grand Island Police Department requests to purchase the following
in car camera systems with included BWCs, priced under state contract 16087(oc),
QTY 9—M500 Watchguard in car cameras from Motorola Solutions,
QTY 9—V700 Watchguard BWCs from Motorola Solutions,
WHEREAS, the additional in car cameras and BWCs systems will be used in the
upfit of the nine (9) new police patrol vehicles purchased in FY26, and
WHEREAS,the Police Department wishes to purchase nine(9)M500 Watchguard in
car camera systems with included nine (9)V700 Watchguard BWCs from Motorola Solutions for a
total of$125,178.00. These purchases will be funded using the Vehicle Capital Expenditure funds
approved for FY26.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND, NEBRASKA, to approve the purchase of nine (9) M500
Watchguard in car camera systems with included nine (9)V700 Watchguard BWCs from Motorola
Solutions) using the state contract 16087(oc), for a total cost of$125,178.00.
