WHEREAS, the City approved the Grand Island Police Department's budget
authority to purchase police portable radios as part of the City/County public safety radio upgrade
for interoperability and better communications; and
WHEREAS, the Grand Island Police Department requests to purchase nine (9)
Motorola APX 8500 P25 compliant in car radios, priced under state contract 16054(oc): and
WHEREAS, the additional radios will be upfitted into the new 2026 police patrol
vehicles, and
WHEREAS,the Police Department wishes to purchase the nine (9)Motorola APX
8500 P25 compliant in car radios for a total of$82,858.41.These purchases will be funded using the
approved 2026 Police Capital Vehicle funds.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF GRAND ISLAND,NEBRASKA,to approve the purchase of nine (9) in car radios
from Motorola Solutions using the state contract 16054(oc), for a total cost of$82,858.41.
