WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island Police Department is applying as a sub-recipient to
the Nebraska State Patrol FY25 BJA grant for federal assistance for the Comprehensive Opioid,
Stimulant, and Substance Use, Site-Based Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Grand Island Police Department may be allocated $500,000.00
under this sub-recipient award; and
WHEREAS, the cost for the purchase of a Drone as a First Responder program for three
years is estimated at $480,000.00 with an additional $20,000.00 used to purchase another smaller
updated drone, being spent in FY27-29.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GRAND ISLAND,NEBRASKA,that the application as a sub-recipient to the Nebraska
State Patrol FY25 BJA grant for federal assistance for the Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and
Substance Use, Site-Based Program in the amount up to $500,000.00 is hereby approved.
